GreenTech Amsterdam remains one of the world's leading horticultural technology exhibitions, bringing together innovators and growers from across the globe. For Cultiwool, this year's event marked an important milestone: our first time exhibiting with a dedicated Cultiwool booth.
Together with Knauf Insulation, we welcomed visitors from across the horticulture industry to discuss the future of professional cultivation and the role of high-performance stone wool substrates in modern growing systems. Throughout the three-day event, our team shared insights on root-zone management, irrigation strategies, substrate uniformity, and sustainable cultivation practices.
The exhibition provided a valuable opportunity to strengthen existing relationships, meet new growers, and exchange ideas with professionals working across greenhouse vegetables, propagation, leafy greens, ornamentals, and medicinal plants.
A key theme throughout GreenTech 2026 was the continued development of sustainable and resource-efficient cultivation systems.
During the event programme, Ryan Wankel represented Cultiwool on stage, presenting insights into Cultiwool Prime, our newest generation of stone wool substrates. Developed with plant-based binder technology, Cultiwool Prime combines the performance and consistency growers expect from stone wool with a focus on sustainability and modern cultivation requirements.
The presentation generated valuable discussions around substrate innovation, root-zone performance, and how growers can further optimise crop steering and resource efficiency.
Only days after GreenTech, Cultiwool continued the discussion at the Leafy Hydroponics Summit 2026, an event dedicated to advancing hydroponic leafy greens production through collaboration, education, and innovation.
The summit brought together leading growers, suppliers, researchers, and technology providers from across the controlled-environment agriculture sector. During the technical deep-dive sessions, Ryan Wankel delivered the presentation:
"From Plug to Profit: How Cultiwool Prime Redefines the Leafy Greens Plug."
The session explored how substrate selection influences propagation success, crop uniformity, root development, and overall cultivation efficiency. Attendees engaged in discussions around practical strategies for improving consistency and maximising production performance in hydroponic leafy greens systems.

Last week one of the world’s biggest horticultural exhibitions took place in Amsterdam, the Netherlands! The event lasted for 3 days, with 525 exhibitors and 11,000 visitors, these days were full of discussions, presentations, catching up with colleagues, and meeting new professionals from the international industry.
